Baronial Championships

Sovereignty, Service & Honor on the Field of Flame

Baronial Championships
The Baronial Arts & Sciences Champion Competition
The Phoenix Nest: Add a Little Spice

Like the Phoenix of old, artisans will gather spices and use them to create something new. Whether you set them aflame or steep them in water, at least one spice (such as cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, etc.) must be the central focus of your entry for the Sacred Stone Baronial Arts & Sciences Champion Competition.

Inspirational Entry Examples:
  • A tasty cinnamon bread
  • Spun fiber dyed with turmeric
  • Paint pigments created with saffron

Documentation Guidelines:

Documentation is key for this competition and should reflect pre-17th century products, methods, and materials where possible. Citations should be included with at least one reference to the historical inspiration. An executive summary is recommended for documentation more than three pages.

Whether you are making food, dyeing fiber, or creating pigments, we look forward to seeing what new form your spices take!

Judging details will be provided after consultation with the incoming baronage. For questions regarding the competition or the A&S Champion role, please contact Lady Margot Leclerc at margotleclersca@gmail.com.

Baronial Championships
Baronial Beekeeper Championship Contest
Ancient Embers & The Gilded Hive

All competitors must be current, active beekeepers managing their own honeybee colonies. This ensures the Barony maintains a living connection to the craft, keeping our tables supplied with local honey and our courts bright with traditional beeswax.

The Continuity Pledge: The Triple-Jar Requirement

Entrants must provide their honey harvest in three distinct vessels. This act symbolizes the renewal of the Barony and the beekeeper's pledge of ongoing service:

  • The Judging Jar (The "Sun-Drenched" Terroir): A technical assessment of your spring or summer harvest, celebrating the capture of raw sunlight within a jar. Entrants should present at least 2 oz of their lightest honey in a clear, unadorned glass vessel for color, clarity, and taste evaluation.
  • The Ember Jar: One jar (size at the entrant's discretion) gifted to the Outgoing Baronage to honor the light of their past leadership.
  • The Renewal Jar: One jar (size at the entrant's discretion) gifted to the Incoming Baronage to serve as fuel for the light of the future.
Your Apiary Story

Along with your honey, please include a short, written companion to introduce us to your bees. There is no page limit; please feel free to share as much or as little of your story as you like, covering these two areas:

  • Your Nectar Flow & Flora: A brief look at your local forage and how the seasonal honey flow shaped the taste and clarity of your judging jar.
  • The Apiary Chronicle: A personal history of how you got into beekeeping and the story behind your current hives.

Martial Fields | Armored Combat
Baronial Armored Warlord Tournament
The Muster of Shield and Steel

To determine who possesses the tactical brilliance and martial prowess required to lead our powerful vanguard into battle, a grand tournament shall be contested on the auspicious occasion of our glorious Barony’s Birthday.

It is my desire to witness the strength of unity and strategic fellowship. Therefore, this championship track will be fought as a Three-Fighter Team Tournament. The field will be met in an exhausting Round Robin format, testing the endurance and coordination of every alliance present.

When the dust of the lists settles, the martial leader of the ultimate victorious team shall be named and recognized as the rightful Warlord of the Sacred Stone.

In service and honor,
Achbar

Martial Fields | Armored Combat
Baronial Armored Combat Championship
The Trial of Precision & Spirit

To all who aspire to become the next Baronial Champion,

The path to championship is not won through title alone, but through dedication, courage, and honor. Every hour spent training, every lesson learned, and every challenge faced prepares you for the day you step onto the field to prove your worth.

This year, the competition to determine the next Baronial Champion will be a knife fight. It will test not only your skill and precision, but also your composure, determination, and spirit. Victory belongs to the one who meets the challenge with both confidence and respect.

Whether you seek the honor of the championship or simply the opportunity to test yourself against worthy opponents, I encourage you to enter the list and give your best effort. Great champions are forged by their willingness to stand, compete, and strive for excellence.

May your blades be swift, your judgment sound, and your hearts steadfast.

In service and honor,
Iurii Vasilovich

Sovereign Performance Track
Baronial Bardic Championship

"Hearken, good gentles of Sacred Stone! I, Lord Gawain de Barri, call for those who would seek the mantle of Bardic Champion."

To step forward into this noble office, candidates must submit a formal **Letter of Intent** and prepare **three distinct performance works** tailored to the pillars of our populace:

  • The First Work: Crafted especially for our youth.
  • The Second Work: Intended to inspire newcomers to the Dream.
  • The Third Work: Honoring the experiences of those who have walked these roads for many years.

Through story, song, poetry, or other bardic arts, show how you would serve the people of Sacred Stone as their Champion.

Details on where to send your letters of intent are being finalized. Check back soon for submission paths—we cannot wait to hear your stories and songs!

Martial Fields | Target Fields
Baronial Archery Championship
The Gathering of Bowmen

The grand lists of the Sacred Stone stand ready to test the target disciplines of our barony's finest archers. The tournament to determine the incoming Archery champion will take place across the weekend festivity.

For the Baronial Archery Champion, the competition will be a head-to-head shoot at targets whose design has not yet been finalized (though a 'monsters' theme is strongly considered!).

Plans are underway to have other targets readily available for fun, as well as formal Royal Rounds prior to the start of the main Archery Champion competition.
